Retribution:

A little while after Ali had smashed Aubrey's fingers in a crib, this conversation between Ali and Aubrey was recorded as follows:

Ali: You know what? [Slightly bending down to "Aubrey's level" with her hands on her knees] You need a book. I'll go get you a book. You stay there.

Aubrey: [Backs up against the wall and waits patiently].

Ali: [Comes back with a book] Here you go. I'm sorry you were crying [gives a hug].

This picture was taken as the book was transferred:

The latest and greatest...

Well, it's been a while, but now that we're back in Vegas with no internet, blogging time seems to be a scarce commodity these days. I sifted thru the best of the best, and here's what we came up with for the past month or so.

Ali knows her ABC's:

Ali loves her Aunt Jean for whom she was named after (her middle name...Alison Jean):

Ali had her first race with Grandma, and lost miserably...but we still love her:

After a long day of racing with Grandma, Ali and Aubrey needed to relax:

Later, at Grandma Rose's 60th birthday party (with a 50's theme), Ali and Aubrey tried to get their twist on:

They eventually got the hang of it and got the courage to shake it on the dance floor:

This is something that Dave and Steph have been nagging me to get on film for the past 6 months or so, so we have proof of Ali being cute...and smart. (Note: the following was unrehearsed, and she can do them in any order):

And this one I just had to share. I was so impressed with my 5-year-old nephew, Caden. We opened up the new Guitar Hero Aerosmith video game and popped it in the xBox, and he rocked it perfectly on expert mode. The kid is freaking awesome. Who says kids these days aren't learning anything?

Something inspirational...

Randy Pausch, most recently known for his Last Lecture, died a few months ago. If you haven't watched his lecture, I highly recommend it. It's a little long, but if you have an hour to watch it, it's definitely worth it. I just found it on somebody's blog.

I loved these lines:
-Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
-Brick walls are there for a reason: They let us prove how badly we want things.
-Wait, and people will surprise and impress you.-Respect authority while questioning it.
-I don't know how to not have fun.
-When you do the right thing, good stuff has a way of happening…
-Get a feedback loop, and listen to it.When people give you feedback, cherish it, and use it…
